Coombs and Errington

The agricultural region of Vancouver Island is known as Arrowsmith Coombs Country and is also home to the region’s two waterfall BC Provincial Parks – the Englishman River Falls and Little Qualicum River Falls. It encompasses Coombs and Errington, little towns known for the quaint stores, heritage buildings, farmer’s market and some scenic wildlife trails.

Errington is a small community on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, located on Errington Road, off Highway 4, just south of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. It was named after Errington, Great Britain, by Duncan McMillan.

The town, with a population of approximately 3500, is a farming and residential community, with small businesses emerging in the downtown area. The Errington War Memorial Hall and adjacent park host such events as the seasonal farmers’ market and craft sales, in which local individuals and businesses take part.

Errington was founded in 1918 for British World War I officers to become chicken ranchers.
